Dr Niemandt opened his practice in June 2013, and ever since the practice has grown from strength to strength and we are truly blessed to be able to serve the local and surrounding communities.
His passion to diagnose and treat various eye conditions started during his medical degree studies at the University of Pretoria when he experienced micro eye surgery with Prof Polla Roux and continued with Dr Linda Visser at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
He successfully completed his eye specialty studies in 2012 and is a member of the College of Medicine of South-Africa (“CMSA”), the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa (“OSSA”), the Ophthalmological Management Group (“OMG”) and the South African Society of Oculoplastic Surgery (“SASOPS”).
He is also involved in various social responsibility initiatives such as international eye care awareness week (“ECAW”), where sponsored cataract surgeries are performed for less fortunate patients in the community.
He is very keen in studying new techniques in various aspects of ophthalmology and won first prize as a registrar for his presentation at the South African Glaucoma Society (“SAGS”) meeting in 2010.
His practice is aimed on the treatment of various eye conditions and also refractive eye surgery through LASIK, ReLEx SMILE and PRK procedures.
